Down through the recent age we call history there have been groups of individuals, or secret societies, of people who claimed to have knowledge that was as sacred as it was secret. Of these we know only a little of the secrets they let out, or what leaked out. And, of the many societies there are a few that have become well known to the general public. There are probably some which are still secret enough to remain unknown to this day. Of those groups known are the Gnostics, the Hermitics, the Rosecrucians, the Knights Tempar and the Freemasons. Of course this applies to western civilization and says nothing of the Eastern world, its history or the knowledge that it may have held or developed over the millennia. Nor does it consider the wisdom of the American native cultures that were all but obliterated by the coming of white man.

This line of western knowledge has its roots in the mathematics and geometry dating back to early Egyptian times – while the Egyptian history went back to Atlantean times. In those days there were Masons who did the temple building, pyramid building etc. These individuals were skilled architecture and engineering as required to build structures that would hold up; they had knowledge of mandala and geometry in the outer world and as it unfolds through the inner world. This comes from inner vision: the Egyptians stated that life in this world could/should be a reflection of the celestial world. As energy flows in from the stars, it comes as frequencies of electromagnetic energy, forming patterns of geometric structure, as has been demonstrated in recent science.

These are the foundations of sub-atomic quanta that condense into building blocks we call atoms, molecules – which conglomerate into the elements of the periodic table, those into solid substances, mixed into the compounds of the world. Some of those compounds and elements form into crystals, proteins and chromosomal chains that are the foundations of manifest life we experience as humans.

The knowledge and awareness of these flowing energies is called the science of Yantra Yoga.

The science of Yantra yoga is an ancient system of mathematics and its related geometry which date back to pre-Egyptian times. It has become obvious to many that the Egyptians themselves were adepts in mathematics; just from measurements taken of their structures and the fact that they were building pyramids at all proves that they were aware of some kind of symbolic system. This system is referred to in modern terminology as Sacred Geometry or at times Mystic Symbolism. Perhaps it has been called by these names in various languages for quite a length of time. To the Egyptians as well as many other cultures this information was considered sacred and special – reserved for the elite such as the high priests and the architects who built the temples and other complex buildings. Some of those remaining today are still regarded as the wonders of the ancient world.

Mystics in western cultures expressed and painted visions of what they could perceive, while shamans of many other often more ancient cultures, spoke of and drew pictures of geometric patterns, mythical beings like dragons and serpents, and incorporated these in the drawings within their buildings as well as used them in their rituals. Modern day research done with some of these shamans has revealed that while they are having visions of these “serpents” their DNA is actually radiating photons of light, so that what they are seeing in fact is being projected from this intra-cellular level of their being. This gives us an indication that the serpentine figures recorded in so many cultures worldwide comes from inner perception of our own DNA which has a serpentine coiled (and moving) structure. The wavering motion of our innermost being and the motion of serpents themselves shows us something fundamental about the energy moves. The wave like patterns of energy in motion is not just a symbolic conjecture of the mind but rather a real representation of energy. From there we can look at more solid and seemingly symbolic structures like Pyramids, which are also to be found in so many old cultures worldwide, even though the types of pyramids may vary. They have an amazing similarity to many crystals that like to grow into these shapes. The fact that they grow is amazing enough, being (only) mineral life, but why into these shapes? Now that we are in the age of nuclear physics again, we can start to realize that the movement of energy itself creates certain patterns that dictate how atoms and molecules fall into place. As physicists probe into the sub-atomic world of quantum physics they are discovering a mathematical and geometric reality that is astounding. The new quantum view is showing an intelligent mathematical arrangement within that micro-world as the energy quanta themselves seek balance and position themselves in precise patterns of triangles, squares and circles.

It has previously been noted in centuries past that the ratios and proportions of measurement found in nature also fall into mathematical equations that are repeated in different sizes through a large range of species in mineral life, plant life and animal life. For instance there is a ratio known as the golden means which demonstrates a repetition of itself in creation through everything from crystals to sea shells to humans, as if it were a fundamental aspect of creation itself. As the universe unfolds its creation we find this repetition displayed in fractal patterns in varying sizes that go all the way down to the infinitely small quantum microcosm.

When we look inward that is what we find; then as we look outward to the macrocosm we find similar ever expanding spirals out to the edges of the known universe. On careful observation it is noted that the repetitions follow each other in a sequence according to a specific ratio: it is this ratio which is called the golden means. The ratio has been known about for some time, and although observable in the limited world of our sense perception, it has not been so observable in the inner world of cells and molecules or in the larger realm of planets and stars. Only with the advent of modern technology have we been able to look deeply enough inward and far enough out there to see that this unfolding universe holds the same ratio.
